The most controversial energy infrastructure project – Nord Stream 2 – is under hefty fire from across the Atlantic. The construction of the Russian-German gas pipeline across the Baltic Sea, the second of its kind, is almost finished and by the end of this year, it will deliver its first gas to Germany. The closer the pipeline gets to this point, the louder is the opposition. It is clear that the argumentation is nothing but emotional and this is a risk for the geopolitical order, energy security and transatlantic relations.
